Brontotherium, or Megacerops, is an extinct genus of hoofed browsing animals that roamed North America during the Late Eocene epoch (38–34 mya). Although it looked like a rhinoceros and was the size of an African elephant, it is actually more closely related to horses. (Zdeněk Burian)
